Focused Recruitment are currently working in exclusive partnership with our client Abingdon Flooring / Carpets Blackwood. We are seeking a number of Production Machine Operators to join their manufacturing plant based on the Pen Y Fan Industrial Estate.

Abingdon Flooring are a British based company with sites in South Wales, The West Midlands & the North & South of England Employing a total workforce of over 300 people with the capacity to produce over 15 million square metres of carpet every year. That's enough to get you to Argentina and back every year!

Hours of work:

These positions are working on a 3 shift rotational basis Monday Friday consisting of days, nights & afternoons. Early finishes on a Friday on all X3 shifts with weekends off.

  • Days 06:00am 14:00pm Monday Thursday. 06:00am 12:00pm on Fridays
  • Afternoons - 14:00pm 22:00pm Monday Thursday. 12:00pm 18:00pm on Fridays
  • Nights 22:00pm 06:00am Monday Thursday. 18:00pm 12:00am on Fridays

Duties of the role include:

  • Operating a range of production machinery / equipment and monitoring process start to finish
  • Aspects of manual handling whilst relocating raw material at the beginning of the Production process
  • Packing of finished product
  • Carry out visual inspection checks on completed product
  • Working within a process driven environment to production KPI's and targets.
  • Overseeing full production process from start to finish.
  • Complete corresponding production paper work
  • Setting production machinery, ensuring machines are running to optimum capacity.

The desired candidates will have:

  • Be able to work to KPI's & production schedules.
  • Be able to work as part of a team.
  • Able to complete manual handling tasks, relocating product within production areas & lifting / bending down etc.
  • Previous experience operating production machinery.
  • Knowledge of health and safety in the work place

These positions are to start from July with the first intake expected from 01/07/2024.
