Focused Recruitment are currently seeking a Production Shift Manager to join our clients manufacturing plant in the local area.

This role will be responsible for the overall performance of your shift you will be covering. The role is vital in ensuring the overall productivity and efficiency of the company.

Duties:

  • To optimise the manufacturing performance of your shift by managing capacity, analysing performance & finding opportunities to improve
  • Facilitating continuous improvement activities within area and measuring/developing the skills within the team.
  • Responsible for the execution of continuous improvement initiatives in your area.
  • To ensure manufacturing activities are resourced and managed appropriately.
  • To follow the escalation process for your area, ensuring your team is well resources and supported to problem solve.
  • Ensuring effective handover of current state to the oncoming shift at the end of your shift.
  • Liaising with and supporting other supervisors on shift to ensure set demands and manufacturing targets are achieved; by minimising downtime and maximising right-first time and consequently output.
  • To champion and promote a Safety-First mind-set, ensuring employees follow safe working practices and company standards and to promote a safe, positive, and achievement-orientated working environment.
  • Ensure as part of a team of Supervisors on shift, there is sufficient level of communication between all areas and other departments.
  • To partner with the HR team in employing the internal people management process, working in collaboration with the HR team. Subsequently, ensuring a robust approach to management of staff in accordance with company policy and procedure.

Hours of work:

The hours of work follow a 3 shift pattern (Monday to Friday)

Overview:

In order to be successful in this position you will be required to have relevant industry experience along with experience of being a successful Value Stream Leader previously. You will need to be computer literate and have the ability to problem solve through any issues that may arise. Someone who is able to motivate and encourage staff would be advantageous and the ability to be flexible would be very beneficial.
