Focused Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Shift Coordinator to join our clients team on a permanent basis at their manufacturing facility within the Blackwood area.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a very reputable company within the local area. Our client would be seeking candidates with a minimum of 2 years within a similar role prior.

Hours of work include:

Monday - Friday on a 2 shift rotational basis consisting of days & afternoons. Day shift - 06:00am - 14:00pm & Afternoon shift 12:00pm - 20:00pm Monday to Friday

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Planning, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching, counselling and disciplining employees; initiating, co-ordinating and enforcing systems, policies and procedures
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; adherence to deadlines
  • Maintains quality of service by establishing and enforcing organisation standards
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Resolving personnel problems by analysing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action
  • Improve professional and technical knowledge by attending relevant training courses and meetings as offered by the Company; using initiative to make recommendations to enhance personal development and skills relevant to the role
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Desirable criteria:

  • Managing & Control of shop floor
  • Production Planning/Organisation
  • Experience in setting and reporting against KPI's (eg: OEE)
  • Ability to do basic risk assessments
  • Experience in working with and developing SOP's
  • Knowledge and experience in Lean/5S principles a distinct advantage
  • Problem Solving & Analysis
  • Good Communication (written and oral)
  • Intermediate IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook and MRP)
  • Use of initiative and ability to make decisions
  • IOSH Managing safety an advantage
